NYCODIEL 1258, 1255 and 1244 fluids are classified K3 in line with IEC 61039. IEC 61039 classifies product fire risks based on fire point and heat of combustion.

Only two product categories meet the K3 classification of IEC standard 61039: synthetic esters, and silicone oils. Vegetable oils have a high fire point but have a higher heat of combustion.
